I also Agreed with ur idea but the time in which students should mug up is quit less .The concept of basic idea should be taught very sincerely so that student can develop their own idea for appearing on line.

In teacher education we do have something called content test for student teachers . my observation is that we cover exactly those topics and the style of questions that are listed in SSC / ICSE board questions. there is nothing much about very fundamental concepts as we see that can be proved using geogebra. 

Infact I have realized that answering using geogebra and its solution can very well be done in real time as well as online if the teacher and student are connected on intranet .
other type of tests that can be conducted online are objective type which is also quite difficult , but the questions may tend to have convergent answers.
