Subject: My questions
The following are the questions I prepared on reading the first chapter of
Kosslyn's book.
1. If imagery is indeed a type of representation with associated cognitive
processes, then what kind of representation is involved and how is it
carried forward?
2. Describe the history and the present status of the imagery debates.
3. Give a detailed account of the behaviourists' response to imagery.
4. What are propositional and depictive representations? What are their
chief features and describe the roles they play in the imagery debates.
What are their present status? How do experiments agree/disagree with the
two forms of representations?
I have a few more questions with the brain activation techniques and FMRI,
but I have to read them over well before I can expect to have some clue as
to what their answers might be.
Thanking you,
Atanu.
